     All About Me

   Hello! My name is Alyssa Palacios. I am 18 years old and a first year college student. I attend Glendale Community College. My goal is to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in about 3 years. Of course I have to finish all of my schooling. After I complete all of that I'm hoping to move back to California. I was originally born in San Diego California, I miss it so much. The weather here in Arizona is a little too dry for my liking. 


I don't think I have a lot of interests I feel that I am kept to myself a lot. One thing I do enjoy would be reading. My favorite author is Colleen Hoover. I mainly stick to her books. I use a website called 
https://www.penguinrandomhouse.ca/book-finder. This website helped me decide what book I would be interested in.

    I don't have a lot of pet peeves but one that really bothers me would definitely be mouth breathers! If it's quiet it's fine but as soon as I can actually hear someone breathing out of their mouth I have to put my headphones in. I will never say anything only keep it to myself because I'm sure there are things I do that cause pet peeves for others.

    Something I think that makes me unique is that I am what some people call "Goofy Footed". This means that is I were to kick a soccer ball I would use my right foot, but if I am skating I use my left foot to push a skateboard. My cousins would try to teach meet use my right foot to push off with but it never stuck. I would be the only person as the skate park using my left foot and I didn't even know it was weird until people would try and teach me tricks but I couldn't follow their steps due to using a different foot.

    San Diego definitely has a very different climate than AZ! I've heard a lot about Colleen Hoover, but haven't yet read any of her books. Where would be the best place to start?

    Hi Alyssa!

    We have a lot in common and I think you would make a great Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I agree with AZ. I would love to move to San Diego after I finish school, I love it there so much and need to be at the beach. I love reading as well and have always wanted to get into Colleen Hoovers books but I haven’t had a chance.

The app TikTok has become so popular with the younger generation, Gen Z to be exact. It seems that everyone has this ad wether they post on it or just watch other people's video's. Some people even make money from this app when they post their content.       Although the app has a lot of younger adults using it, there are plenty older and middle aged adults on the app as well. Some may think this app is very useless but I think it depends on how you use it. You can use it to find fun recipes and dinner ideas, even Amazon finds. Then there's some people who just lay in bed endlessly scrolling, that might know be very beneficial...      TikTok isn't a bad thing unless you make it a bad thing!

Blog entry #7: Fresh

 After watching Fresh it made me think of the types of foods I eat and how they are made. I think the purpose of this film is to make people aware of the food they're buying and the thing the farmers may go through. The audience I believe is towards all food buying customers in the United States. The tone is kind of modern, not everyone is being serious in the film they are just living their everyday life. I was surprised that they gave away worms, I would think you'd want some of them or would want to at least make a profit on them. This film kind of grossed me out because I'm not a fan of the whole process of actually getting the foods and the way they get the meat. I think this film is educating and everyone who buys these products should be educated on them. This film defiantly matters, It gives the perspective of the farmers them selfs which seems like the best people to get information from. It's probably simpler as Americans to not know the issues of what we eat

Blog Entry #6: Social media! More like Bad idea

 Social Media is such a big thing in today's world. Almost all of the celebs have it, it's what keeps people looking at them. Although celebrities have social media, so do your ordinary people. From young teens the middle aged Facebook moms    The thing about social media is that it makes you vulnerable. You are showing all of these people what your life is like, where you go, and even what your home may look like. Many people who have social media, Instagram for an example lets you follow people who may be mutuals with your friends. Even though your friends  may know that person, you don't. So many people follow others who they don't actually know.  This can result in stalking, even bullying.  Would we be happier without it???
